Our Team

  • Margaret Palmer, Ph.D., President

    Dr. Palmer holds a Ph.D in organizational psychology. She practices with special emphases on the well-being of medical providers. Stress related behaviors, including physician burnout are at the center of her focus with individual physicians, medical practices, and medical staffs. Dr. Palmer has built a network of exceptional support delivered by seasoned and experienced medical professionals through DocExecutive.

    Dr. Palmer is the founder and president of DocExecutive, specifically for physicians and advanced care providers, as well as founder and president of Healthcare Management Consulting Group, designed to support efforts at creating healthier and more productive work environments in healthcare systems.

  • Melinda Merrill, LCSW, Consultant

    As an LCSW, Mindy has worked for 20 years in crisis intervention and brief stabilization counseling, primarily in emergency departments and inpatient hospital settings. She is passionate about working from a whole-person, strengths perspective and offers non-judgmental, solution focused support. She received her BA in Psychology from UMaine and MSW from University of Southern Maine and has worked in a variety of positions including leadership, program development, supervision, and intern training. Committed, down to earth and compassionate, Mindy feels privileged to work with participants in the DocExecutive Provider Wellness Program.

  • Nancy M. Cummings, M.D., Consultant

    Dr Cummings holds a BS from Bates College and an MD from Columbia University. Her Residency was through The Harvard University’s Combined Orthopedic Program where she was the first female Orthopedic Chief resident in the history of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She has practiced Orthopedic surgery for 30 years in both the academic and private practice setting. Most recently she was on staff at the Mayo Clinic and was the head Orthopedic Surgeon for the WNBA Minnesota Lynx. She is also a past president of the Maine Medical Association; the focus of her presidency was physician health and wellness. She has recently returned to Maine and is dedicated to helping physicians achieve work/life balance having personally experienced the challenges of balancing a surgical career/motherhood and personal wellness.

  • Leslie KR Anderson, PT, MSB, Consultant

    As a seasoned senior healthcare leader, Leslie has dedicated over 30 years to making a difference for others in the healthcare arena. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of New England and a Master of Science in Business from Husson University. Leslie possesses extensive expertise in cultivating collaborative healthcare management practices that result in exceptional patient care and customer service, streamlined processes, and the recruitment and retention of highly skilled staff. In addition to working closely with all medical and clinical areas, her leadership experience encompasses hospital ancillary services such as Radiology, Rehabilitation Services, and Laboratory, as well as hospital support services including Environmental Services (EVS), Facility Management, Security, and Nutritional Services. Additionally, she has overseen capital acquisition projects and facility construction initiatives at the senior executive level. Leslie has served on the Maine Hospital Association Workforce Council, serving as chair for the hospital violence subcommittee. Leslie excels in leading objective process analysis, strategic goal setting, and team development.

    Most recently, Leslie served as the Chief Operating Officer at Cary Medical Center before transitioning to an independent role as a healthcare consultant, grant writer and grant consultant for hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), social service organizations, and public service agencies across New England, the Mississippi Delta region, rural Texas, and the Southeastern United States. She continues to impart her knowledge by teaching grant writing and healthcare information technology through the University of Maine at Presque Isle's YourPace Program. Leslie resides in Southern Maine.

  • Lisa M. Belisle, MD., Consultant

    Dr. Lisa Belisle has a wide range of professional experience within the medical field, practicing and teaching family and integrative medicine, acupuncture and public health in private practice, hospitals and the community at large. Most recently, she served as a family physician and Associate Chief Medical Officer with MaineGeneral Health. Raised in Maine as the oldest in a family of ten, Dr. Belisle received her undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College, and her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed her family medicine residency at Maine Medical Center, and a fellowship in preventive medicine at the University of Massachusetts in Worcester. In 2023, Dr. Belisle received a PhD in leadership studies from the University of Central Arkansas. In addition to her work as a physician, Dr. Belisle has had simultaneous experience with creative writing, editing, radio show hosting, interviewing and public speaking. She and her husband have six children, and live on a small island off the coast of Maine with their dogs, Shark and Newt.
